KillZone: 02

With the HOSTILE TAKEOVER in full effect, Derek Silver continues his run of terror tonight. With Mikael Lundgard dethroned, the FUSE-W entity is left weakened. Now the X:TV Vice President is ready to adress the current situation with the title, and his other abberant plans for the company..

State of the Company
Starring: Derek Silver

The smirk on his face was unsettling.

At least that's what the majority of viewers would most likely be imagining, as it came upon their television.

Seated behind his desk, hands folded is FUSE-W Network Head Derek Silver. He has a few sheets of nondescript paper sitting in front of him.

Derek Silver: Last week you saw Former FUSE-W Universal Champion Mikael Lundgard defeated in that very ring.

Though he can't hear them, the boo's from the fans are ever present.

Derek Silver: He was also suspended. Which leaves this championship, quite vacated..

He reaches under his desk and produces the Universal championship.

Derek Silver: It also may be shocking news to hear that the FUSE-W Custom CHAOS champion, Tigera, suffered a severe ankle injury during her defense against John Covel last Killzone.

He reaches under his desk again, producing the Custom CHAOS championship. He sets it next to the Uni title.

Derek Silver: So that leaves two titles without champions tonight. I was able to meet with MISTER Caldera earlier in the week, and we discussed this problem, until two solutions were reached.

He Pauses, patting the CC title a few times.

Derek Silver: Starting next week We will have a Four Man elimination tournament for this title. The Participants will be Cassian Jaymes, John Covel, Andre Jenson, and.. A competitor of Duke Williams choosing. I may think him a dirty redneck, but he is the commissioner of this company, and thus entitled.

He turns to the Universal championship.

Derek Silver: Then we have the biggest belt in the company. This will be contended for in a match not seen for nearly three years, the pinnacle of brutality. Six individuals will have the chance to battle it out in..

The ASYLUM.

As the words leave his smug face the fans in the arena go psycho with cheers.

Derek Silver: Three people of my choosing, and three people of Williams choosing, will enter a steel cell which covers the ring. Once in, it's locked and the competitors will then have a chance at the title. They'll be named off in the coming weeks.

Have a Good Night.

One in a million shot
Starring: Damien Cruz

SA: Well, Hunter, what was the announcement you were talking about during the break? It better not be about your new hair plugs, because we already know.

HJ: You work on that one for very long, Ambrose? No, it’s something of much greater importance. FUSE fans, last week, we saw a stunning turn of events play out with The Danish Demon going on a rampage, and leveling anyone who stood in his way. Among those who were left in his wake was the former Universal Champion, Damien Cruz. Earlier today, we sent out a FUSE reporter to get an update on Damien’s condition. We now have footage of what he brought back.

The camera goes to the footage. Sitting in a chair, with crutches resting on the arm is The Latin Assassin. His right leg is in a steel and foam brace, and he is sipping from a glass of iced tea. Across from him sits a relatively unknown interviewer, a new guy whose getting his first, if possibly only, shot at being a full-fledged FUSE correspondent. His name is Brian Vincent, but that hardly matters. What is far more important is the way Damien Cruz shifts in his chair, waiting for the cameraman to get the lighting just right against the Miami skyline. When Brian gets the thumbs up, he begins.

BV: Damien, I guess I’ll ask the obvious; what happened last week?

Damien scratches his stubble-peppered chin, and chuckles.

DC: I guess I let my guard down. I assumed Mikael Lundgard was smarter than he turned out to be, and he caught me by surprise. And as luck would have it, as The Fates continue to drop stones in my path, he happened to flare up an old injury. It just so happened that he took a chair to my knee, and rattled loose a set of pins that were put there years before. It was dumb luck, one hundred percent. So, the doctors went in, tightened them, and told me to give it a rest for a couple of weeks. I’ll pad it up a little more for a while, and then I will be ready to get back into the ring where I need to be.

BV: Why do you say that you ‘need to be’ in the ring?

DC: Because I’m sitting in the back, watching new guys come and go, watching stars take my place at the top of the bill, watching my name fade from the memory and the lips of the roster and the fans, and I’m getting restless. It’s time for me to get back out there, and renew the promise I made to the sport. Mark my words, no one will be set apart or spared when I am ready to take what I’ve watched drift away. And if I get my way, I will get my opportunity in that ring, in the spotlight, against The Danish Demon. Consider it an open invitation; I want Lundgard, and I want him soon. And I don’t care what I have to do to make it happen…I don’t care if it’s in a dark basement somewhere with no one but me him and a medic. I want Lundargard, and I want to repay the debt that he has dropped on my lap.

BV: Well, according to my sources, he’s on the shelf.

DC: Then I’ll be waiting for him. When, and if, he decides to come back, I am hereby laying my challenge on the table. I want Mikael Lundgard in a submission match. I want him in an ‘I Quit’ match. I want him to tap, to quit, or to go limp in the center of that ring. And if he wants to duck me, fine. But I’ll be here waiting until he grows a set of balls, and faces the man who we both know will cripple him.

BV: Those are very strong words for The Danish Demon.

DC: Consider them strong words for anyone…and I don’t care who you are…anyone who thinks that I am to be overlooked, underestimated, or taken lightly. FUSE has been asleep for far too long, and it’s time I drop a few sharks into the Jacuzzi. So when you go back to HQ, let it be known that I am coming, and I’m coming back real soon. Now, I have other matters to attend to.

Damien Cruz is in rare form as he gets to his feet, and begins to walk away on the crutches.

Singles Rules
Starring: Cassian Jaymes, Andre Jenson

The scene returns to the arena as Scott and Hunter turn their attention to the upcoming match.

Already in the ring, Cassian Jaymes is adjusting his pads, and testing the ropes’ tension. Suddenly, the epic “O Fortuna” by Carl Orff fills the packed arena, and Andre Jenson makes his way down the ramp way. He greets the fans, quickly earning the crowd’s favoritism. As he approaches the ring, he loses his smile, and slides between the ropes. His opponent pays him little mind, and continues to shake out the stiffness in his limbs.

HJ: We clearly see the difference between these two men. Jenson has a size advantage, but Jaymes is the more intense of the two, it seems. This may be one of the closest matches we’ve seen in a long while.

AJ cracks his knuckles, watching Jaymes, and waits for the opening bell. When it comes, both men begin to circle the ring, and then they lock up.

SA: Jaymes immediately going for the early upset.

AJ is pulled into a stiff elbow shot to the jaw, and he is staggered to one knee. Jaymes grabs him, and pulls him into another elbow shot, then sends him into the ropes hard. As he rebounds, AJ is brought to the mat with a perfectly executed drop toe hold. Jaymes scrambles to lock in a read choke, but AJ is able to roll away to the safety of the outside. Not allowing him much breathing time, Cassian slides to the outside, and corners Jenson. Jaymes crashes into him with a hard clothesline, and AJ is sent to the ground. Jaymes pulls him up, and begins to pick him apart with a series of blows to the head and chest. However, one punch too many gives AJ the opening he needs. Blocking a wide right cross, he delivers a fist to Jaymes’ chin, and then follows with a standing drop kick that echoes throughout the arena. Jaymes drops, and AJ climbs up to the ring edge, eyeing his target, then jumping into the air, flipping, and landing a 450 leg drop across the throat of Cassian Jaymes. The crowd explodes with appreciation, but AJ pays a price for the impact. While Jaymes too the brunt of the blow, there was a feedback that AJ underestimated. As AJ got to his feet, he could feel a tightness in his lower back, but defiantly ignored it. Andre Jenson lifts Jaymes up, and slides him into the ring. AJ then steps up onto the apron, and waits. As Jaymes gathers to his feet, he is met with a slingshot clothesline as AJ sails over the top rope. Again, the fans roar with approval. Andre, wanting to end it, goes for a cover, but Jaymes pushes him away before the ref can get a single count.

HJ: We’re barely getting started, and these guys are throwing everything they have at each other.

SA: If that is everything they got, it’s going to be a very long night for the fans.

Andre rolls and gets to his feet, as Cassian Jaymes pulls himself up. AJ then looks for an equalizer, and charges Cassian with a clothesline. His ambition is punished as Cassian drops back down, tugging the rope down with him, and allowing AJ to roll over it to the outside with a silly thud. Cassian, finding his second wind, stands up, and begins to formulate a plan. He looks down to see AJ getting to his feet. He then charges backwards, then dives through the middle ropes, colliding with a suicide dive. The two bodies hit the guardrail, and the match continues.

SA: Masterful attack. I think we’re seeing a winner here.

HJ: Not so fast, Andre is already to his feet.

AJ was hurt, but ironically, it was Jaymes that took the greater impact. In the last moment, AJ caught Jaymes, and delivered a stiff flying DDT. It occurred very quickly, and to everyone’s disbelief.

AJ slid his opponent into the ring, and the crowd cheered. He then hopped up to the top turnbuckle, and took flight. He landed with a rigid body splash, and the ref made the count.

Meeting
Starring: Alexis Marin, Jorge Samuelsson

We head to the back where we see a shirtless Alexis Marin walking through the backstage area carrying a rather large sledgehammer. He comes to a door that reads Jorge Samuelsson. Marin goes to open the door, but finds that it's locked. Marin decides that force is needed as he swings the hammer at the door handle, breaking the door open.

Samuelsson is seen standing there with his mighty warhammer held in both hands before him as if he was waiting for someone to come. He simply raises it and places it upon his shoulder and shows no emotion as he looks at Marin.

Samuelsson: Took you long enough American!

Marin: Well, don't worry, Tiny. I hope that you savored the last few moments. Because now, you're living on borrowed time.

Smiling Samuelsson looks at marin and grins.

Samuelsson: Tiny ehh I think that is where you are confused. You see I accepted your challenge last week after you made it. You face me tonight and truth to be told you will suffer like no man has ever suffered at my hands before. Now leave before I end your pathetic existance now. You have your chance to fight against me in the ring tonight. Go rest and relax for your living nightmares has come.

Marin: I'm going to suffer like no man has ever suffered at your hands before. What, are you going to sing ABBA instead of wrestling tonight?

Samuelsson: Your time is numbered American your not very big and truth to be told not very impressive neither. You’re beginning to annoy me and if you truly think your man enough bring the fight to the ring tonight. I am not afraid and i will be waiting for you there.

Marin: Yeah, I'm not as much of a fat ass as you are. Just because you're the only person in this locker room that can see Eye to Eye with me, doens't mean that I should be impressed by you. Trust me, I will bring the fight to you in the ring. Just bring that tack hammer to the ring with you.

Chuckling and laughing deeply and looking at the sledgehammer that is much smaller than his.

Samuelsson: Only an american would bring a knife to a sword fight. I will be waiting little man perhaps it is time someone gave yoiu a dose of reality. See you soon.

Marin: And only a stupid little Finn would bring a sword to a gun fight. I'll see your ass in hell.

Marin heads out of the dressing room.

Samuelsson smiles and looks at the door as it closes.

Samuelsson: Yes you will very soon American.

Match of Honor
Starring: Xantippe, The Preacher

"Superbeast" fills the arena as the bell starts to ring. A cross of fire starts to form on the entrance ramp.

SKYE: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a Match of Honor, where the object of the match is to pin your opponent, make them submit, or throw them over the top and to the floor.

SA: The Preacher made this open challenge last week, and apparently it didn't take too long for Xantippe to accept it.

HJ: He was probably upset over the Satan's Insurance Adjuster cracks that the Preacher made last week on commentary.

SA: It doesn't matter as the Preacher is about to make his way to the ring.

SKYE: Making his way to the ring first......

Entering the arena is Mary, wearing a black and silver corset and a red leather dress. Coming out of the entrance way behind her is the Preacher, wearing a long black and red leather trench coat, black leather pants, a black shirt with a red priest's collar and a pair of black padded gloves.

HJ: The Preacher looks like he's here to give a sermon, not wrestle a match.

SA: You never know what these guys are going to dress like when they come out here. But this match is of the Preacher's design, so it looks like he's dressed for the occasion.

As the Preacher makes it to the ring, he slides under the bottom rope and enters the ring. He takes the trench coat off and hands it over the top to Mary. He pulls on the top rope and waits for Xantippe to make his way to the ring.

The referee calls for the bell as the Preacher and Xantippe surround each other. The Preacher stops and does a sign of the cross, which infuriates Xantippe. Xantippe charges in and takes a drop toe hold. The Preacher comes over and locks on a front face lock. The much larger Xantippe shows his strength advantage and lifts the Preacher up and sets him over the top rope and to the apron on the outside. Xantippe then charges it to try and end the match early, only to find the Preacher shoot his shoulder through the ropes and catch Xantippe in the midsection. The Preacher then shoots himself over the top rope, and rolling Xantippe up with a sunset flip. The referee comes over to administer the count, but the Preacher can only keep Xantippe down for one. Both the Preacher and Xantippe get to their feet and lock up. Xantippe again uses his strength advantage and throws the Preacher down to the mat.

HJ: This is definitely not something that the Preacher is used to, a man with the size and strength of Xantippe.

SA: How many people are used to wrestling Satan?

HJ: Good point.

The Preacher gets back to his feet and stretches his elbow. The Preacher and Xantippe tie up again. Once again, Xantippe uses his power advantage to shove the Preacher to the mat. The Preacher seems to be unfazed by it as he finds his way back to his feet. The Preacher shoots in for a single leg takedown, but Xantippe counters it with a double axe handle to the back. Xantippe then brings the Preacher back up and slams him hard to the mat. Xantippe drops a big elbow to the Preacher's chest, driving the air out of his lungs. Xantippe goes for the cover, but the referee gets down in time to only get a two count. Xantippe brings the Preacher back up by his collar and slams him down hard once again. Xantippe heads into the ropes to build up momentum leaps up and drives his elbow once again into the Preacher's chest. Another cover generates only a two count.

HJ: Xantippe is really giving it to the Preacher tonight.

SA: I'm surprised that the Preacher was able to kick out after that second elbow drop from a four hundred pound man crashing right into his chest.

HJ: I'm surprised that the Preacher isn't being scraped off the mat with a spatula.

SA: Yeah, that too.

Xantippe brings the Preacher back to his feet, before driving an elbow to the back of the Preacher's head. Xantippe charges into the ropes and hits a clubbing forearm shot to the Preacher's back, slamming him hard to the mat. Xantippe again charges into the ropes and comes back with a jumping elbow, but the Preacher rolls out of the way, avoiding the contact. The Preacher slowly gets to his feet and starts to stalk Xantippe. As Xantippe gets to his feet, the Preacher locks him in a Katahajime. The Preacher latches on a body scissor to put more pressure on the choke. Xantippe would have none off it, as he charges to the corner and runs the Preacher head first into the top turnbuckle.

SA: The Preacher head first into the top turnbuckle. This just has not been his match tonight.

HJ: Too bad the Preacher doesn't have FUSE's dental plan, he might need it after that shot to the head.

Surprisingly, the Preacher is able to hold onto the Katahajime. Xantippe is now starting to fade from the lack of blood flow to the brain. The Preacher tries to tighten his vice-like grip, only to find Xantippe throw all his weight backwards, slamming the Preacher to the mat. The Preacher is unable to keep his grip as Xantippe rises to his feet and takes a quick breath. Xantippe then reaches down and grabs the Preacher by the throat and lifts him back to his feet.

SA: We saw this last week. Xantippe is going to go for the Chokeslam from Hell.

HJ: Does no bode well for the Preacher.

Xantippe lifts the Preacher high into the air and slams him down hard with the Chokeslam from Hell right by the ropes. Xantippe goes for the cover, but just before the referee is able to get the three, the Preacher gets his foot on the bottom rope. Xantippe raises his arms up in victory, but the ref puts them down, showing that he only made a two count and that the Preacher's foot was on the rope.

SA: The Preacher somehow got his foot on the bottom rope to stave off losing this match.

HJ: Next time, Xantippe needs to give him that chokeslam in the center of the ring, where only Stretch Armstrong could reach the ropes.

SA: The Preacher is in trouble early in this match, that's for sure.

Xantippe again forces the Preacher to his feet. He starts to choke the Preacher on the top rope. The ref starts to administer his five count.

HJ: What the fuck is the referee counting for? If I heard the rules correctly, Xantippe can't be disqualified.

Xantippe decides to heed the referee's count and stop the choke. He also uses the top rope to sling the Preacher back towards the center of the ring. Xantippe waits for the Preacher to return to his feet. As the Preacher gets up, he gets met with a boot to his midsection. Xantippe then lifts the Preacher up and slams him down hard with a sidewalk slam. Xantippe wants to make sure that the match is over, so he picks the Preacher back up and slams him again. Xantippe makes the cover, but the fans explode as the Preacher somehow gets a shoulder up before the three count.

SA: The Preacher isn't one to give up very easily in a match like this.

Xantippe brings the Preacher back to his feet and whips him hard into the corner. Xantippe charges in to sandwich the Preacher, but the Preacher gets a boot up, catching Xantippe in the face. The Preacher starts to fire off some rights at the chest of the much larger man. Xantippe is attempting to block this flurry from the Preacher when he takes a standing dropkick in the chest that knocks him back. The Preacher is quickly back up and launches another dropkick, and follows this is up with a superkick that takes Xantippe to the ropes. The Preacher hits another superkick, which drops Xantippe and ties him up in the ropes.

HJ: Where did the Preacher get this from?

SA: I don't know, but he's got Xantippe in trouble.

The Preacher charges in and hits Xantippe with a forearm shot as the referee attempts to get him untied from the ropes. The Preacher then starts to hammer away at his exposed forehead. These punches aren't having as much effect as the Preacher would like, as he decides to take off his right glove and expose his taped right hand. The Preacher starts to hammer away at Xantippe's skull as the referee finally manages to untie him and shoves the Preacher back. The Preacher charges back in and lands another hard right hand that sends Xantippe through the ropes and to the floor.

HJ: That's it. The Preacher's won it.

SA: Not quite, Xantippe fell through the ropes, not over the top.

As Xantippe gets back to his feet, the Preacher flies through the ropes and hits the bigger man with another forearm shot. The Preacher then waits for Xantippe to get back to his feet. As Xantippe does, the Preacher comes in for a clothesline, only to get caught by the throat and Chokeslammed on the concrete floor surrounding the ring. Xantippe grabs the Preacher again by the throat, lifts him up and now gives the Preacher a Chokeslam from Hell into the front row, destroying some of the steel chairs that the fans at ringside were sitting in.

HJ: This isn't very good for the Preacher anymore.

SA: I don't think it is either. The only saving grace for the Preacher right now is the fact that he's on the outside of the ring, and as the rules don't call for falls count anywhere, he can't be pinned.

Xantippe climbs over the railing and picks the Preacher back up one more time. He gives his fallen foe a biel over the railing and back into the ringside area. As Xantippe goes over the railing again, Mary comes over and kicks it, slamming the steel into Xantippe's knee. This only distracts Xantippe, as he looks right at Mary. As he gets the rest of the way over, he starts to stalk the former Ms. Jackson.

HJ: Mary shouldn't have done that.

SA: I don't think she thought it really wouldn't faze Xantippe.

HJ: Xantippe isn't going to care what happens to her now.

Mary starts to run, to keep Xantippe from catching her. Unfortunately, Mary was wearing heels and Xantippe has good speed for a man his size and catches up with her halfway up the aisle. Xantippe lifts her over his shoulder and takes her back to the ring. He rolls her in and starts to stalk her again. Mary is crawling backwards to keep from the man that many think is Satan, when Xantippe gets caught in the back with a steel chair. Xantippe turns around only to have the Preacher throw the chair into his grasp. The Preacher then proceeds to shoot a superkick at the chair, but Xantippe avoids the kick.

HJ: That was one of the Preacher's signatures, and Xantippe had it scouted.

Xantippe swings the chair at the Preacher, who avoids the contact and hits a dropkick to Xantippe's knee. This causes Xantippe down to a knee as the Preacher hits another dropkick, knocking the chair right into Xantippe's other knee. Finally, third dropkick knocks Xantippe onto his back and the Preacher ascends to the top turnbuckle.

HJ: What the hell is the Preacher doing on the top turnbuckle?

SA: I have no idea.

The Preacher comes off the top and his the AC Air on the prone Xantippe. The Preacher goes for the cover, but the referee only manages a one count before Xantippe forcefully kicks out. The Preacher then latches on the Garrote. As the Preacher attempts to choke the life out of Xantippe, Xantippe gets back to his feet and lifts the Preacher with him.

HJ: This must be Deja Vu for the Preacher.

SA: What do you mean?

HJ: The Preacher once broke free from this move in the same fashion.

Xantippe drops to his knees and slams the Preacher down hard, breaking the chokehold. Xantippe goes for the cover, but the Preacher is able to get a shoulder up. Xantippe goes for another cover, and again, the Preacher gets a shoulder up. This brings Xantippe to call for another Chokeslam from Hell. As he lifts the Preacher up, the Preacher breaks from Xantippe's grip and attempts to pull him down for a Fujiwara Armbar. Xantippe powers out and hits the Preacher with a short arm clothesline that takes the Preacher off his feet.

HJ: The more the Preacher tries to take Xantippe down, the more Xantippe hurts the Preacher.

SA: Maybe the Preacher has bitten off more than he could chew for this match.

Xantippe again lifts the Preacher to his feet and locks on a standing head scissor. Xantippe lifts the Preacher into a vertical position and falls back, driving the Preacher head first with a Texas Piledriver. Xantippe goes for a cover, but is surprised after the Preacher gets a shoulder up. Xantippe forces the Preacher back to his feet, and sends him for a ride with an Irish Whip. As the Preacher returns on the rebound, Xantippe catches him and slams him down hard with a sidewalk slam. Xantippe hooks a leg, but the Preacher is again able to get a shoulder up at the two count.

SA: The Preacher is showing why he's still in this business, he's taken a ton of punishment and keeps coming back for more.

HJ: The Preacher is a little son of a bitch that doesn't know when to stay down.

Xantippe starts to argue with the ref before going back to the prone Preacher and starts to lay some kicks to his exposed ribs. Xantippe then rears back and charges in for a kick aimed at the Preacher's head, but the Preacher rolls out of the way, causing Xantippe to miss and crash hard into the mat.

SA: And that’s the great Charlie Brown maneuver.

HJ: Did you see the elevation that Xantippe got there, it was unbelievable.

The Preacher takes this moment to head to the middle turnbuckle and dive off, driving an elbow straight into Xantippe’s sternum. The Preacher then follows this up with a legdrop across Xantippe’s throat. He goes for the cover, but Xantippe kicks out at one. The Preacher doesn’t give Xantippe any recovery time though; as he starts to lay into Xantippe’s bloody forehead with a series of rights, in an attempt to bust him open even further. The referee is trying to pry the Preacher off of Xantippe, but the referee is tossed out of the ring for his troubles.

SA: Well, we know that the referee can’t disqualify the Preacher for that.

HJ: He should be able to.

This distraction from the referee costs the Preacher, as Xantippe returns to his feet and grasps the Preacher by the throat. Xantippe lifts the Preacher up and hits a Chokeslam from Hell. Xantippe goes for the cover, but the referee isn’t there to make the count. After a few moments, another referee comes from the backstage area and starts to make the count. The Preacher kicks out after two, just barely lifting his shoulder off the mat. Xantippe, furious about the count, gives the second referee a Chokeslam from Hell.

SA: And the referee takes a Chokeslam from Hell for his troubles here tonight.

HJ: That goes without saying that if you don’t tell either of these guys what they want to hear, that you’re going to be feeling a little bit of pain.

Xantippe grasps the Preacher by the throat again and lifts him up. Xantippe then lifts the Preacher up over his head and drops him down with Snake Eyes. Xantippe then picks up the steel chair and sets it in the center of the ring. Xantippe then brings the Preacher to the ropes and sends him for an Irish Whip. As the Preacher rebounds, Xantippe hits a massive spinebuster.

SA: The Preacher is in real trouble right now.

HJ: A referee needs to get in there to make a count.

Xantippe, realizing that there aren’t any referees around, brings the Preacher back up and slams him down with another spinebuster.

SA: Xantippe is trying to kill the Preacher.

HJ: Well, yeah.

SA: Someone needs to get down here to stop this massacre.

HJ: Ambrose, do you really think that there is anyone that stupid in the locker room area that would come down and end this? The Preacher made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. And if that means that Xantippe breaks him in a million pieces, so be it.

SA: You are heartless.

Xantippe brings the Preacher back to his feet. Once again, the Preacher finds Xantippe’s rather sizable hand grasping him by the throat. Xantippe lifts the Preacher in the air, but the Preacher manages to wiggle out and come over the top with a sunset flip. Xantippe kicks out, but the Preacher turns it into his Southern Cross submission move as the fans explode.

SA: He’s got the Southern Cross locked in!

HJ: Xantippe is going to break it, don’t worry.

The Preacher wrenches back on the move, pulling Xantippe’s upper body up as far as he can.

Fans: TAP, TAP, TAP, TAP.

SA: The Preacher has the hold locked in the center of the ring, his hands and clenched. I don’t see Xantippe breaking the hold. HJ: The Preacher will give out before Xantippe gives up.

The Preacher tightens his grip on the Southern Cross as he still strives to get the tapout from Xantippe. Xantippe is refusing to give to the hold as he tries to use his strength to break from the hold.

SA: With Xantippe tied up like that, I don’t see him even attempting to pull himself to the ropes and break this hold.

HJ: Just wait and see, Xantippe will break this hold.

One of the referees starts to come to as the Preacher pulls back more on the Southern Cross. Sensing that he won’t get the tapout, the Preacher releases one of his arms and wraps it around Xantippe’s head and neck, latching on a variation of the Dragon Sleeper. This frees up one of Xantippe’s arms as he now starts to crawl towards the ropes. SA: The Preacher has this hold locked in, and Xantippe still shows no signs of breaking it.

HJ: It’s only a matter of time before Xantippe makes it to the ropes. The Preacher hasn’t been able to get anymore than a one count from this man, what makes you think that he’s going to get Xantippe to tap out.

SA: You never know, the Preacher seems to be tenacious with this submission move, and there is no way that it hasn’t affected Xantippe over the last couple minutes that he’s been in the Southern Cross and now this Dragon Sleeper variant.

Xantippe continues to crawl to the ropes and finally makes it, grasping the bottom rope. The referee comes over and attempts to pry the Preacher off of Xantippe. The Preacher is reluctant to break the hold, feeling that it would only take a few more moments to get the submission victory. The referee finally pries the Preacher off of Xantippe and the Preacher gets into the referee’s face.

SA: Not a smart move if you’re the Preacher. You don’t want to make the officials in FUSE angry.

HJ: The Preacher was blatantly defying the referee’s order to break the hold, what do you expect the Preacher is going to do? Be cordial?

Xantippe uses the ropes to get back to his feet, the submission hold giving a great deal of damage to his knee and shoulder. Xantippe limps over and clubs the Preacher in the back as he was arguing with the referee. Xantippe then grabs the Preacher by the throat and lifts him for the Chokeslam from Hell, but finds that he can’t keep the weight on his knee for long and drops before he can slam the Preacher down. The Preacher hits a sharp knee to the side of Xantippe’s head. The Preacher makes the cover, and is able to get his first two count of the match.

SA: The Preacher has finally found a way to breach Xantippe’s threshold of pain.

HJ: He tried to break him in half.

SA: Do you blame him. This is a wrestling match after all.

The Preacher again homes in on Xantippe’s bloody forehead, causing even more blood to flow with a slew of rights. He throws his left glove to the mat and starts to swing away with both hands, trying to keep Xantippe from recovering. The Preacher is pulled off of Xantippe by the referee, who takes a toe kick followed by Penance for the trouble.

SA: We’re back to not having a referee, again in this match.

HJ: Two referees down, I don’t think we’re going to have another referee in this match.

The Preacher goes in for a kick to Xantippe’s midsection, but finds that his foot’s been caught. Xantippe gets to his feet and takes the Preacher down with a single leg take down. The bigger man then drops an elbow to the inside of the Preacher’s leg. A second elbow causes the Preacher to grasp his quadriceps. Xantippe drops a third elbow and starts to hyperextend the Preacher’s knee.

SA: Xantippe has taken the Preacher to the mat, and now is trying to shred the Preacher’s leg.

HJ: Serves the Preacher right, for taking out the referee.

SA: What about Xantippe, who took the other referee out?

HJ: The referee had it coming to him.

Xantippe finally gets back to his feet and lifts the Preacher’s leg. Xantippe starts to kick the Preacher in the hamstring. The Preacher starts to roll to his abdomen and pushes up, so as to stand on one leg. The Preacher then delivers a mule kick to Xantippe’s wrist, breaking his hold of the Preacher’s other ankle. The Preacher hobbles for a second before giving Xantippe a shot to the forehead. A second punch has Xantippe reeling for a minute. The Preacher charges in for a third shot, but is given a kick to the face for the troubles.

SA: The Preacher is in real trouble right now.

HJ: I know, can’t you see it, this match is coming to an end.

Xantippe rolls out of the ring and goes underneath the ring. He pulls out a piece of fabric and some lighter fluid. He douses the fabric with the lighter fluid and wraps it around his arm.

SA: You’ve got to be kidding me. You can’t be serious.

HJ: These guys are insane!

As Xantippe enters the ring again, he pulls out a lighter from his ring attire and lights the fabric. Within moments, Xantippe’s arm is ablaze as he charges at the Preacher, who’s used the ropes to get to his feet. Just as Xantippe is about to connect with a fiery clothesline, the Preacher drops to the mat, pulling the top rope down. The second referee comes to just in time to see Xantippe go over the top and to the floor and calls for the timekeeper to ring the bell.

SA: It’s over. Xantippe has gone over the top and to the floor. The Preacher has won the Match of Honor.

HJ: I don’t believe it.

Members of the ring crew are out quickly with fire extinguishers putting the fire on Xantippe’s arm out.

SKYE: The winner of this match, via sending his opponent over the top and to the floor, THE PREACHER!

The fans explode as “Superbeast” fills the arena. The Preacher rolls out of the ring and makes his way towards the back as the trainer runs to ringside to check on Xantippe.

Winner: The Preacher

An Imminent Return
Starring: Derek Silver

A nameless FUSE employee pops their head round the door of Derek Silver’s office as the crowd quietens down after the last contest.

“Mr Silver?”

The Vice-President of X:TV lifts his head from whatever he was reading to acknowledge the underling’s presence, nodding his head slightly as an indication for them to continue.

“There’s a call from you on line 2 sir.”

“Put it through.”

Like a shot the secretary/gofer/random employee is gone, eager to please the new regime. The ‘boss’ turns back to the desk, picking up the phone with an inquisitive…

“Hello?”

For a few seconds Silver is silent, taking in all that is being said.

“Sorry, who is this again?”

The response comes swiftly.

“Alright Dr Mitchell, you were saying?”

A longer pause this time, while what is undoubtedly crucial information is shared.

“I see, I see. And he’s been discharged for how long?”

A frown crosses Silver’s face, distaste for the answer clear in his features, his voice raising and gaining an angrier tone.

“Why wasn’t I told about this earlier?…You forgot?!”

Clearly seething now, Silver struggles to keep his tone below shouting level.

“Well thank you for deciding to tell me you incompetent son of a bitch!”

The phone is slammed back in its cradle as Silver pulls out his cellphone and punches in a number. After a few seconds he speaks.

“It’s me. We may have a problem.”

Stepping Stone.
Starring: John Covel

The shot opens with a close angle on the chest area of a man. The chest is covered by a black FUSE wrestling t-shirt. Towards the edges of the black, white is seen waving with the slow and subtle movement of the figure standing there. The shot slowly pans out and moves upwards, revealing the rest of a Cubs jersey and the face of John Covel. The crowd is heard erupting with cheers as he is revealed standing in front of a black drape that bears the FUSE logo.

Covel: I stand before you tonight a little battered and bruised after my match with Tigera last week. I wish I could stand before you battered, bruised AND CUSTOM C.H.A.O.S Champion but that’s not the case.

Covel stares into the camera as he places one of his hands in the other and begins rubbing them together.

Covel: For the first time in my career one of my matches was stopped by the referee in fear for the condition of both participants. I had to laugh as I walked, yes WALKED, myself from the curtain to my dressing room. I was fine. I could have continued my match and gotten my belt back.

Covel continues to speak, but now begins looking around at the small area around him.

Covel: The past few weeks has made it seem like it’s just not in the cards for me to come out on top, but as hard as it may be to believe, I think I am on top right now. You can say “John, you didn’t win the match. You’re not holding a belt over your shoulder tonight.”

The crowd is heard letting out a disappointed reaction that he is not the champion as John’s vision crosses the camera.

Covel: And everybody who said that would be right. My “victory” is that I stand before you tonight ready to compete. Tigera isn’t scheduled to wrestle tonight. She’s not even here.

The crowd cheers at the realization that Covel has technically gained a small advantage over Tigera.

Covel: I’m here tonight to wrestle yet another female competitor. Reyna Preciosa is one of the hottest new talents to come into the company. She’s the Livewire champion, which just further solidifies her spot in the ranks here at FUSE.

The crowd boos at the compliments that John hands Reyna.

Covel: Tonight she gets to compete in her first main event with me. It’s a big moment in her career. A win against me in a main event could propel her to that next level. There’s one simple problem with that. She is going to have to beat me. Going into matches, I need to set myself goals to attain. Whether they be winning titles or simply surviving, it’s what I do. Tonight I come into the match with my goal as clear as it can be.

Covel runs his right hand through his hair and then drops them both to his side again as he locks back on the camera.

Covel: I’m going to make an example out of Reyna Preciosa. Tonight I will leave the ring haven proven that I can still get it done in the ring. I will prove to myself and to all you fans that John Covel is still one of the top talents in the company. I will prove to Tigera that she hasn’t taken all of the fight out of me. Tonight is a night that I WILL walk out of that ring after having my hand raised. Tonight marks a new page in my career. Tonight begins my rise to the top of FUSE.

The crowd cheers as a smile comes across John’s face.

Covel: Tonight is my first step towards the Universal Title.

The crowd lets out a HUGE pop at his words. Covel slaps his chest and then pushes past the camera as the shot fades.
